Cyberpunk 2077 is the ultimate power fantasy. A video game that takes the best of modern RPG, first-person shooter, stealth, and the open world and masterfully blends it into a single product. If Skyrim and GTA V marked a before and after for their genres at the beginning of the 2010s, Cyberpunk 2077 is called to do the same from this 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 is all mostly fine: not nearly as sweepingly epic as a few entries in their back catalog. CD Projekt Red has always had a penchant for world-building though, and keeps that legacy going. Over the course of this review period I'm going to be taking my time with it, sifting through various side missions while making my way through the critical path. That's not just to avoid crunch; it's arguably the best part of the game so far.
We could wax lyrical about how good this game is for another ten years, and we still think the conversation would be relevant - so yes, we think Cyberpunk 2077 is the game of the decade. This is an event, and a big moment in gaming, because the brilliant Cyberpunk 2077 is laying down the stepping stones for greater feats in the future.
CD Projekt RED is willing to take an even bigger risk and dare something very different, combining elements that they have proven to know well and elements which they have no previous experience in.
And it is precisely for this reason that, despite all the technical problems of the production, we cannot in any way fail to assign a vote of excellence to the work of CDPR: the defects will disappear over time, but already now Cyberpunk 2077 is a title which undoubtedly deserves a place of honor in all players' library.
Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsequences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
Cyberpunk 2077 proves that the developers have improved their skills since fantastic The Witcher 3. It is an excellent action RPG that would benefit from a longer delay to polish the various issues. However, no amount of bugs can diminish the immense pleasure of exploring this world.
It's definitely feels like with Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt RED tried to tell a really meaningful story, while using as a backdrop truly a unique setting. And all the while the developers made sure that the game still feels approachable by all kind of people, and that it presents itself with insane graphical fidelity painting an image of an eerily realistic world of tommorow. We doubt there's too many people who don't believe in CD Projekt RED, but in case you're one of them, be warned - Cyberpunk 2077 is something that will change the way you look at the gaming industry as a whole.
This is an outstanding and highly enjoyable game, but take your time with it, do all the side missions (think of them as extensions of the main quest, in fact) and don’t rush the main storyline. You should absolutely take the earliest available opportunity to explore Night City and everything it has to offer. From the visuals to the music to the vibe, it’s a superb experience and one I am looking forward to spending a lot more time with.
Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t perfect, but it is ambitious. It marries a gripping story with a huge open world absolutely dripping with atmosphere; one in which, after fifty hours of gameplay, I still feel like I’ve only scratched its surface. Even now I’m itching to jump back in and complete yet more side jobs, not only because they’re enjoyable, but also just in case they offer V more options when it comes to ending their story.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a new masterpiece from CD Projekt RED, a huge, dense, vibrant, colorfoul and dark Sci-Fi RPG that any fan of the genre should step in. First because it will provide the sensation that the story really depends on you choices and that you have everything you need for your playstyle. Then because streets, stores, buildings, inhabitants of Night City won't get out of your head easily. You'll be happy to interact with Keanu Reeves, but the real star is this city and all it provides in terms of atmosphere, game mechanics and stories.
Although there still exist a lot of technical glitches, Cyberpunk 2077 stands out in terms of cyberpunk concept, story-telling, characters, level-design, combat, and so forth. It's a pleasure to spend hundreds of hours in the Night City, and I believe it would be one of the greatest open-world RPGs in the next decade.
The dark future certainly looks promising, thanks to the collective imagination of the team at CD Projekt Red, which seems to know no bounds. Cyberpunk 2077 certainly took a while to come to our hands, but be glad it’s finally here, for it is here to stay for a long time to come. And it certainly did not disappoint.
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the greatest RPGs of the generation. We love Night City, its characters and great writing for every mission. It is also one of the best looking games out there (if your PC is powerful enough).
Cyberpunk 2077 offers a great sci-fi experience in which you can get lost for hours. It is not a revolutionary title in its genre, but it brings fresh changes. Whether it's new tasks, well-written dialogues, and characters, good stylized graphics, or very pleasant controls. Decision-making constructions leave you free where you need them. Conversely, they bind you in places where it is important. Everything fits together thanks to that. And if you were afraid that Cyberpunk 2077 would be a debacle. Throw this worry behind your head. Enjoy Night City to the fullest!
I haven’t fallen in love with playing Cyberpunk 2077, but I haven’t loathed it either. Some moments have been exciting or moving, while others have just felt like stuff to do.
Cyberpunk 2077 always had a danger of becoming a case of style over substance and we’ll leave the final judgement on that until later. In terms of the environments, characters quests, and gameplay options though there’s little sign of Projekt CD Red trying to take a shortcut.
Groundbreaking, but not quite as much as you're hoping it is. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't surpass its brilliant influences, but in Night City, Johnny Silverhand, and its chilling vision of hyper-capitalism, it claims territory of its own.
Cyberpunk 2077 is huge, steeped in sex, satisfying shooting, and the expansion of individual elements delights. It's one of those productions you want to get ing into to get to know its charms and enjoy every moment in Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 is staggering, overwhelming, and even surprising at times in its spectacle. Although my first dozen hours with the game has been marred by easy-to-fix problems, Nighty City, along with all it offers and all that call it home, makes for an intoxicating escape. Here's hoping the next one hundred hours are as utterly compelling.
When Cyberpunk's grim setting and mix of gameplay systems land, it is a powerfully impressive experience - sprawling, dense, clever, witty, and most importantly damn good fun. Other times, it has all the charm of a moody, edgy teenager.
An ambitious, maybe over ambitious, thrilling ride that falters when it comes to execution. The developer's strength shines through the world building and production, resulting in a unique mix that is let down by a myriad list of technical and AI problems.
Ultimately, it feels like Cyberpunk 2077 is a fitting bookend for the previous generation of games and a strong starting point for current-gen. Now it's time to start innovating again.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a wild journey within an incredibly fascinating setting; some technical uncertainties destined to disappear and a partial repetitiveness limit its glory, but overall it is an adventure worthy of William Gibson himself. Cyberpunk 2077 allowed me to finally feel immersed in that pen & paper RPG I discovered in 1988, pouring rain clouding my view in a kaleidoscope of neon signs, just as I had imagined while leafing through those pages. Some may not consider it a perfect game, but I do.
I’m V and the game is Silverhand - I can’t get Cyberpunk 2077 out of my head. I’ve had it a week and played 70 hours, which is probably about as healthy as scooping out my face and replacing it with electronics, but it didn’t feel like work. Like a digital personality loaded onto a biochip, it felt like stepping into another life for a while. It’s a life I can’t wait to relive.
Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely a technological wonder in the world of video games proving that CDPR has reached unprecedented heights that we could never imagine. They went above and beyond everything they have ever created in the Witcher series.
CD Projekt Red has created a triumphant RPG experience with Cyberpunk 2077, yet it often falters under the weight of its own ambition thanks to inconsistent writing and narrative
In the midst of such intense anticipation and scrutiny, it’s easy to get carried away with what Cyberpunk 2077 could have been. The final experience might be more familiar than many predicted, with plenty of elements that aren’t perfect, but it’s dripping with detail and engaging stories. With so much to see and do, Cyberpunk 2077 is the kind of RPG where you blink and hours go by, which is just what we need to finish off 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world masterpiece that features some of the most immersive and liberating storytelling this industry has to offer. With full freedom to choose V's personality, looks, and gameplay style, Cyberpunk 2077 gives the player an unrelenting amount of control in a world that delivers dozens upon dozens of hours of high-quality content. Cyberpunk 2077 is a mammoth achievement and solidifies CD Projekt RED's place at the top of the pile.

Not gonna lie, the Nintendo Switch is not the greatest thing that recent gaming ever had.
Okay, so everyone loves the Switch, right? Even the virgin girls have just bought them just to insert the joy cons into their puss! I gotta admit it, for wha it is, the console had suceed very well, surpassing the likes of the NES and probably the Wii, and most of the consumers are actually hardcore gamers from the X360/PS3 era, and girls, tons of girls(keep in mind of what I had said)Well, excuseeeee meeeee my princes/princesses, but for me, the Switch has failed in tons of ways that everyone fail to see. First of all, it’s horrible menu, the only thing that Nintendo did for their menu, it’s literally add a stock default one, create some placeholder icons made out of just outlines, ripoff the Android settings menu, and that’s it, no music, no Miiverse, no true notifications of any sort, basically nothing that a modern console out from the late 2000s-present should have! Just compare it to the PS4 where it even has themes from indie games such as Undertale or FNAF, or the Xbox One menu, which has everything necessary for a modern console, and the Switch will look like a piece of easy shit that even the Special Ed’s could make. Second of all it’s library, honestly though, Nintendo’s first party library is pure ass, pure sweet diarrhea filled ass their library is(including their third party ones), I honestly don’t like BOTW; they massacred Link into a exhibionist nudist who sometimes wear blue clothes but doesn’t wear his iconic hat for some reason, and the level design it’s empty, very, very empty ass wasteland, that looks more like a prototype for Fortnite’s next map for whatever shit they have in store next season, although it’s filled with padding by making Link get stopped dead on his tracks with sudden text boxes that the only thing they did to make them besides coding them, is to use Microsoft Word’s default fonts and call it a day! And the rest of the library doesn’t get any better, first of all, they had gotten rid of the lives system from Mario’s Oddysey(I don’t care if they are outdated or not, lives should had been kept in that game), the game’s level design is confusing as fuck, and it barely has a soundtrack at all!; then Splatoon 2 which is just an enhanced sequel from a Splatoon 1 for the Wii U, and I have one question about Splatoon. Why is the Splatoon franchise so fuckeng feminist, I’m not a misogynist here but, it doesn’t seem strange that Nintendo prioritized females(especially UNDERAGED females) in what’s supposed to be a shooting game? Do girls even have a reason to be a priority on this game, besides, you know, BEING AIMED at perverted teenage boys who think that a drawing are more attractive than pure sweet and soft skin, and masturbate to that every day, until they regretted it? Do not even get me started from the fact that Inklings die when they touch water! Despite being fuckeng squids! Oscar in Shark Tale can sum it up well, with the phrase “WHO the hell someone trips underwater!”, exactly my fishy sexy boi! And the game is made by Japanese’s, so it gets even more obvious that this is nothing but fan service for the bois, or men! No wonder Smash Bros got many pedophiles or manipulative Lisbeans! And ports, the is filled of ports, nothing but rereleases of any sort, whether are ports, last gen X360/PS3 ports, rereleases, or enhanced sequels to Wii U games, for the love of god, they didn’t even made a new Mario Kart besides introducing the pedo induncing shit that are the Inklings or the Spooktober induncing sack bones that is Dry Bones(I love Dry Bones though)! And even then, there’s a severe lack of important games that are not in the Switch, but are in the PS4 and Xbox One. Here, let me type a list of games that are not in the Switch: -Rayman Origins -Grand Theft Auto V -Spider Man PS4 -Star Wars Battlefront -Any Call of Duty game of any sorts -Same thing I mentioned above but with GTA. -Any PVZ game, although they included Octomageddon(indie game made by PVZ’s OG creator) -Any Touhou game of any sorts as well. -A Need For Speed game -God of War -Kingdom Hearts ports or remasters, and not the minigame collection with an even more convoluted story. -A Fall Guys And Among Us port. -Mass Effect, not even a port the Switch has. -Gears of War. -More Sega games. And the list goes on. And, if you guys think that I am in the wrong for mentioning exclusives as well, when you guys beg over and over for a Persona 5 port(Those graphics, Disney Live Action like sounding music and characters that look more like Tik Tokers than actual anime characters, eww, I don’t like them) and a Banjo Kazooie port. Then what’s up with that? And the newcomers list in Smash Bros Ultimate is quite pathetic! Not a lot of characters that gamers would like besides the hardcore Nintendo fans, first of all Joker; not sure of why he even got a spot on here, Hero from Dragon Quest(not a bad deal at all, in fact I accept it), Banjo Kazooie?; But he’s a forgotten character from an era and genre that gamers don’t even care anymore besides indie devs! Ridley? Why they even put him in here, for real, he’s just here for the memes just because he’s big, as big as Bowser he is, seriously JUST BECAUSE HE’s BIG? Despite him being a DRAGON?! That’s it? And most of all? Incineroar instead of a plant type based Pokémon fighter, without even having a new PKMN stage neither? Piranha Plant, Sans Mii costume, Cuphead Mii costume, Byleth, Terry, Isabelle, Inkling probably, Steve, and King K Rool are just there as meme fodders(and requests from men who were born from the 90s who refuses to know that the 90s are old). Don’t even get me started on the humongous lack of modes that Smash has! A huge one. That’s I gotta say! -No Trophies(because they were hard to make, that’s pure laziness as fuck, and Sakurai has a huge team, so no) -Barely any new stages that’s not a copy and paste of a previous stage, just with a different model for it(looking at you New Donk City which is pretty much, Kalos 3DS stage but with New York, and the BOTW stage which is a modified Luigi’s Mansion stage)! - Only three Mii Assault based modes, that’s it. -All Stars mode is not in the game(and the Non Mii based one doesn’t count) -No Custom Characters or modifiable stats of any sorts! -You can’t even paint over photos and draw awesome Fluttershy or Pokémon based stuff on the console anymore! -No Miiverse stage of any sort? And instead a copy and paste of Battlefield but scaled smaller? what. -You can’t even bet for players of any sorts on online matches! -No coins matches as well. Sorry Wario.... -No customizable messages for online play with friends(Pokémon Sun and Moon did something like that as well). And the list goes on as expected. And on another note. What’s up with most franchises being represented for the first time in Smash being indie based ones? Tell me a franchise which got represented for the first time in Smash that’s neither a DLC based franchise like Persona or BK, or an obscure NES franchise that got forgotten in the past? And you know that the library for the Switch is quite pathetic! When the Switch’s best seller! Looks something more like coming straight from the App Store or the 3DS! Yes Animal Crossing, I’m talking to you. Honestly though the graphics on the Switch are horrible. The only thing that Nintendo ever did to make the graphics look “HD” is to make models like if they came from the Wii era, and applied shaders, multiple shaders and lighting that eye blinding and fucks up the colors of the characters as well. Tell me if the lighting from Mario Oddysey, SSBU BOTW 1(at least they bothered to fix that in the sequel), Animal Crossing, or Xenoblade Chronicles don’t look way too bright or too hot? If not, then I’m not sure what to describe the eyes of Nintendo fans. Also remember how I said that most of the consumers of the console, were hardcore gamers who were from the X360/PS3 era or virgin girls who don’t like violent games at all? Yeah, if they weren’t for those the Switch would probably sold as much as the GameCube had. And one thing that I had noticed though, is; Notice how most of Nintendo’s fans have an interest on memes, more so memes, memes of any kind as long as there’s a Nintendo involvement with these, yeah, most of Nintendo fans I had known(both online and irl) are only interested in the console for the memes, memes is what rose the console’s popularity. Even Etika was a meme himself before he turned into a psychotic ass irl adult version of Gerald from Hey Arnold, (and had fallen in the river from LEGO City) who thought that showing hentai in public, screaming the N word, or screamed like a girl just because they featured a dragon and a cocodrile in Smash, and doing terrorism to a local town(and threatening himself) makes him gain fans(he did, and even what an ungrateful lad for thinking that having fame and riches is a bad thing, probably he was severely autistic). Like I’m serious! The Switch is like Donald Trump, both were pathetic wastes of oxygen, who’s only reason for being popular is because of memes, nothing but memes, and that’s it, it’s just meme fodder! Let me say something for you, my brothers! If the Switch didn’t replied itself on memes, and memes, the console would probably sold like 14 Million units only, I’m being serious if you also count the amount of 90s fanboys and lisbeans girls that are there as well! Tell me! Didn’t you ever saw the PS4 or Xbox One fans posting memes, and memes as their primary focus instead of focusing on the gameplay or the lore of the their games? Tell me! Also, the thing that I hate most of the Switch, it’s online play.... I hate..... its online play...... they destroyed one of the reasons of why I was a huge Nintendo fan in the 3DS/Wii U era. WHY?! Why they made it so you pay $20 dollars, just for playing matches?! Wasn’t the huge point of Nintendo’s console to feature a massive online network with a huge reliance on it, with even its own social network?! FOR FREE?! Like wtf Nintendo?! Is like saying that McDonalds would get had ridden of their hamburgers and only sold fries, just fries for $20(with soda as well), without anything replacing hamburgers of any sort besides Hot Dogs! And their online play isn’t even that good! The only thing you can do online is play matches, Mario Maker 2 matches, matches for the Wii U port that is MK8DX, Animal Crossing houses being handed to you, and Splatoon/Smash one’s! That’s it! No online chat of any sorts integrated on the console, no achievements, no Miiverse of any kind, no way to search stuff on the internet without using Android OS on the console, no way to share memes on the Switch(despite being a console that relied on them for sales), not much online games to play that aren’t mediocre third party ports of games like CTR NF, you can’t post messages or check out what someone is playing besides a txt file. NOTHING!!!!!!! It’s jus the bare minimum! Compare it to the DSes online play which had Voice Chat, a third party achievement system for both Club Penguin DSes games, you could make emblems in Mario Kart, had Miis(at least in the 3DS), had Flipnote Hatena(foucken Japanese pedophiles ruined the 3DS of having chances for a Flipnote Hatena’s successor, true story), let you had the chance for sharing microgames you made in WarioWare D.I.Y, had a browser which is very obsolete nowadays, and let you share records you could make in Mario & Sonic Olympics games/Sonic Colors, not forgetting Pokémon Diamond/Pearl as well(which I don’t like much, neither HG/SS And gen 5). It’s just that bad! And, the tip of the iceberg of the situation is, that they canceled Smash Bros Ultimate on EVO for this year because of the horrible online play that Smash Ultimate has, and Sonic players harassing the internet as well(which by the way were just kids, enjoying their hedgehog while it rots itself with time)! Like HOLY MagiKarp! Haven’t you seen the problem here? And for the love of god! Stop saying that the reason of why the Switch sold is because it’s portable! Like duh, haven’t you heard of the OG Game Boy which actually premiered handheld gaming for the first time along with the Sega Game Gear(which I prefer more except for Pokémon, Tetris and Kirby), and don’t forget the PSP! That handheld sold like pancakes for having console like graphics that were comparable with the PS3/X360 and had major games that were spinoffs but still were great! And both the PSP/PSVita could connect to the tv anyways by using a PS3 controller for interacting with the games! And lastly, and the least of my worries(somewhat), is that the Joy Con drift is artificial, since pulling the analog stick to the opposite direction of where you hold from had a braking system that deaccelerates the analog inputs, brakes it to 0 values of speed, and then accelerates the analog stick’s inputs in a progressive ass slow way, and the D Pad gets affected as well with values that don’t reach the maximum of its D Pad being pressed values(an analog like inputting system that lets you hold the D Pad slightly to navigate slower with it, on a D Pad..... what the frick?), just compare it to the PS2’s inputting system which makes the inputs reach out to the console, get transferred to the RAM, and then get transferred to the disc of the game you were playing, which is that simple? Compare it to the Switch’s inputs which are processed in the VRAM system and messes with the console’s setting as well? As you can see, that’s my opinion of why, Nintendo’s not the winner of this era for me! At least their third party controllers, while they had to make sacrifices such as getting rid of rumble is just a cruel, scummy ass bag thing for the console to prevent it from making the controllers more expensive than ever thanks to Nintendo themselves! At least they are good and has neat ass design(there’s even a Scorbunny, Squirtle and Crash Bandicoot Controller as well, I would like to own!)! I wonder what’s the next meme that Nintendo fans are gonna rely from for sales?
I just finished a somewhat early mission. Most of you probably know the one: I believe Johnny says something like "Sleep tight," something something haboobs. My opinion of the game has been waxing and waning since launch and I feel quite compelled to write right now. This will be as spoiler-free as possible, and probably a bit on the long side, but I've a mighty need for some personal expression right now. Hopefully it means something to someone else. I'm 33 years old, I work full time and am earning a master's degree online, and I live with my fiancee, so I don't have nearly as much time to play video games as I used to (though more than usual, I guess, thanks to a certain global pandemic). So a game has to be really solid for me to stick with it. I was only vaguely aware of Cyberpunk 2077 prior to launch, but I pre-ordered it anyway. I didn't do any deep dives into the lore nor watch any Night City Wires. I'm not a prior CDPR fan (in fact, an inability to run the first Witcher game is what initially turned me off PC gaming, but honestly I was just too young to know that I needed more RAM). My point being, I didn't go into playing with years' worth of hype or brand loyalty on my side. My one advantage might be that for 9 years I've been playing Skyrim off and on, which upon countless replays has probably developed my "ludo-imagination" to some degree, and that I have an Xbox Series X to play the game on. Anyway—this is my favorite game in years. The huge, sprawling neon city; the explicit cyberpunk setting; the characters (including V); all of it has just really delighted me. I did something I almost never do anymore and stayed up until midnight to play at launch two Thursdays ago. I didn't spend a ton of time on my (male) V because, like a lot of players, I assumed it'd be really easy to alter things like haifacial hair, so I'm stuck with long red/blue/pink hair and a blue mustache for now, but even if it's silly it's grown on me (or rather, grown on V...) Like many of you, I was enjoying the heck out of the game in my "innocence" the first day or so, and was shocked to see the huge amount of backlash cropping up in the main sub-reddit and elsewhere online. Reading about things like police AI, the emptiness of the city, or poor combat was surprising because I truly hadn't noticed them, and that's not because I'm not picky about games. I own around 300 games through Xbox and another hundred or two on Steam, and I've abandoned plenty of them for whatever reason. I think the reason I didn't notice those things is because I was role-playing. Choosing the Nomad lifepath, I didn't trust Jackie, I didn't trust the crossing guard. I felt like my car was a clunker, so I drove pretty carefully (in first person, because I'm a GTA V/GTAO vet) and didn't notice any issues with the driving. And, pure luck, I was playing on a Series X (as mentioned) and didn't encounter any overt bugs or glitches. I felt like I'd gotten lucky just getting into the city from those dusty outskirts. I was surprised at the six month passage, but I liked it: it allowed me to role-play some experience in the city and its workings once the game picked back up in a playable fashion. I've played just about every day since then, and I'm taking it at a slow pace, alternating between very compelling and interesting story missions and just roaming the city, eating burritos, doing odd jobs, and occasionally encountering some terrifying cyberpsychos. I felt so engrossed in the "high tech, low life" cyberpunk vibe that I started researching the genre. I read through William Gibson's Neuromancer in about four days, and am onto book two of the Sprawl trilogy (they seriously hold up for being almost 40 years old). I think CDPR really dropped the ball by releasing this game for base Xbox One and PS4 consoles. That said, I still own an Xbox One S and have played the game on there, too. It runs fine, but maybe I'm just lucky. As many have suggested, Early Access and more honest reviewer policies should have been utilized. It's shitty; but as the game itself states, that's what corpos do, and we live in a corpo world. My wild-haired V has become a kind of combination brawlesamurai, gorilla punching enemies away and dashing through with the Scalpel when precision is more valuable. With a somewhat technical Nomad background, I've also invested time in crafting and upgrading, and it's starting to pay off. I've never been rich, but I managed to buy the Akira motorcycle (one of my favorite films). I've never worn clothing I didn't like the look of; I've either upgraded what I had or just made due by upgrading my favorite threads. There was a post on here recently that called this game "jack of all trades, master of none," and I think I agree. I really feel like this game has met my imagination half-way: I feel like part of my time now is spent as this nomadic samurai who is just trying to make it without the backing of his clan, dealing with the extreme misfortune of a certain aggressive neural implant. There's still oodles of things to do, and the game's systems all seem to work just well enough that I can parkour, fight, eat, sleep, drive slowly in the rain while vibing to some tunes, break up riff raff on the street, and grind out a name for myself without my immersion being broken. I've played for maybe 30 or 40 hours, so not a ton since launch by some standards, but maybe that limitation has kept me from perceiving the world as "lifeless" or "empty," I really can't be sure. Does it make a big difference that I'm playing in HDR10 on an Xbox Series X? Definitely. I'd be as mad as anyone else about the bugs and glitches people are encountering. But having gone in with no expectations, I can't say as the systems have gotten in the way of my imagination. They don't do all the work—sometimes you have to do some work to get into your character's head, going to sleep at night, eating and drinking without animations—but like I said, I've had years of games like Skyrim to get me in that mindset. It'd be nice to see a ripperdoc putting an implant in for my gorilla arms, but I can tell they're their when I punch some gonk a yard through the air. I guess this post is part thought experiment, part love letter to the game, but in a year like this one—global pandemic, can't see family, my wedding got canceled, can't go out and do anything safely—getting swept up in Cyberpunk 2077 (and the cyberpunk genre in general) has been just wonderful. Maybe my almost 30 years of playing video games positioned me to look past some of the wonky bits like laying sideways on the bed or having a weird shadow or not being able to see my reflection, but any place the game "falls short," so to speak, my imagination tends to fill in the gaps. Philosophically speaking, I think this is important because it not only gives the game an ongoing substance even when I'm doing other things (I know where V is, what he's thinking, what he feels he needs to do), it doesn't allow the game to drop the ball. It did crash once, and I did reload one save because I, too, thought Angel was the girl, but otherwise it stands as a wide, shallow kind of platform for my role-playing and imagining to build upon as it sees fit. The characters are more charming than any companion in Skyrim, and the scrappy Nomad life path gives me ample juice by which to build my own imagined personality into V, who—unlike say, Geralt or Arthur Morgan—is more of a skeleton of a persona than a fully realized character, to the advantage of role-playing efforts, in my opinion. I totally get where the complaints are coming from. Analyzed with no imaginary effort, the systems are either outdated or non-existent; this isn't as polished as other games, to be sure. I felt the same disappointment when Fable 2 released because I'd been avidly following its empty promises. But having stumbled into it how I did, and having been blessed with a system that could run it, I am having a very minority experience: it's been just lovely, and has got me thinking about capitalism, the oppression of city infrastructure, the exploitation of our sex drives, and the blurring line of empathy between humanity and its technological creations. It's truly a shame that it will likely go down in history as a blundered launch that created such immense bad blood between consumers and CDPR, because given the right soil and the right amount of sunlight, the experience here can truly flower. Finally, it's a reminder—to me anyway—that games are truly subjective. I've been playing old games I love like Skyrim, New Vegas, and Civilization V in the months leading up to this game, so the graphics blew me away. I've been driving in first person for years, so I have no problem with the hyper-tiny map because I tend to err on the side of feather-footedness (this also helps in avoiding unwanted encounters with the super cops in this game). And my ability to accept V as an inexperienced young adult operating within a certain range of reactions and abilities has made the slow ramp into efficacious combat feel natural, while simultaneously embodying the voice in his head making him do things he might not is built right into the game. All said and done, I'm loving this game, and I apologize for the insanely long, self-indulgent post here just to say so. I have been thinking about why peoples' experiences differ so wildly and trying to better understand why, and it helps to write. So if you got this far: thanks for reading. You're a real choom. Finally—maybe it's just easier to roll with the punches when you've got Penis 2 in your pants.

I'm not the author of this text. I only translated it Credits: LoneRanger (user of wykop.pl) https://www.wykop.pl/ludzie/LoneRange Source (in polish): Part 1: https://www.wykop.pl/artykul/5857493/kalendarium-cyberpunk-2077-1-3/ I will also translate it in parts (like the original text). If something is unclear or you’re polish and feel that there could be a better translation of some parts of the text – dm me. ---------------- I've decided to trace the timeline of Cyberpunk development and the studio itself. Most of this was written based on news reports from Gry-Online.pl May 30. 2012 - Announcement of a new RPG game in cyberpunk genre by creators of The Witcher series. - Non-linear story allowing players to make decisions that'd significantly change the course of it, that's supposed to be something fresh, nothing like we are used to. - Enormous world full of detail, combat system and classes mapped from the paper version, hundreds of possibilities in terms of our character development. - Different kind of weapons, cars, implants. October 18. 2012 - Official title announcement – Cyberpunk 2077 - Sandbox with an open world, virtual reality which is going to be a crucial element of the gameplay - Elaborate character editor where we can pick our class - Tough choices, good dialogues and side quests October 25. 2012 - Game will also be released for the new gen consoles (PS4 and XBOX One) - Great probability of creating tools to support modders - Game development in very early stage – groundwork being laid down, Mike Pondsmith is a part of it - Some of the crew already started to work on models December 27. 2012 - New Job offer at CDPR: Artistic director, required experience in development of RPG games with an open world - Second job offer is for multiplayer developer, who’s job is to adapt the engine to online gameplay January 10. 2013 - First trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P99qJGrPNLs February 27. 2013 - CP will include implants that are going to translate different languages to the language of the player March 13. 2013 - Adam Badowski confirms that CP is also going to be a multiplayer game August 12. 2013 - Game in first and third person perspectives - Based on REDengine3 January 8. 2015 - CDPR is focusing on The Witcher 3 but Cyberpunk is being developed by other team May 28. 2015 - After releasing TW3 the whole team is focusing on development of it. Nothing new about CP, will have to wait until 2017 June 19. 2015 - The main part of the team is working on TW3 DLC’s but more and more people being moved to work on CP - Iwiński states that leaving Witcher is a way to motivate employees because there might be burned out. August 6. 2015 - The team is focusing on CP. Rumors about new RPG game. October 6. 2015 - CP is going to be much bigger than TW3 and experience gained from creating the previous game is going to help with it November 1. 2015 - CP development is moving full steam ahead. The game will be completely different from TW3 - All people that were working on TW3 DLC’s are now shifted to work on CP December 9. 2015 - Rumors about game being released in 2016. VP of CDPR denies it December 10. 2015 - Kiciński for Money.pl – The most important thing is for CP to be like TW3, a remarkable game, and adding marketing to the mix may result in remarkable sales - Mike Pondsmith’s role similar to Sapkowski’s in the past – he’s a consultant, but the studio makes final calls February 24. 2016 - CP soundtrack will be created by the same author who did it for TW3 – Marcin Przybyłowicz March 10. 2016 - CDPR announced at the press conference that in 2017-2021 we can expect two titles – one of them is probably CP and the second one is an RPG triple-A game - The team is going to be double the size of it is now, they're all going to be separated in 4 different teams April 25. 2016 - One of CDPR employees unveiled that working on TW3 gave them a huge amount of experience. One of the things is visual effects editor tool April 28. 2016 - Iwiński sees Rockstar Games as role model company. They’re scared of letting people down when it comes to CP. That’s why they’re putting a lot of work to test things that are going to be shown to a broader audience, but also they have an obsession about the quality of the game. He’d rather put a lot of work into games that are breathtaking and stay with you for years than releasing them in the best time of year just to get huge sales - The goal is for the game to be an artwork for the whole industry. Iwinśki dreams of being one of the top gamedev studios, next to Blizzard, Valve and Bethesda May 14. 2016 - Founded in 2013 Kraków branch of CDPR is going to increase it’s employees count from 30 to 100 and will play an important part in developing CP - Warsaw branch will increase employees count to 500 - Jobs offer consist of both senior and junior positions - Kraków did some work for TW3 and REDengine in the past - In an interview John Mamais (chief of Kraków branch) reveals that almost everyone from the management is shifting to work on CP August 30. 2016 - CDPR looking for people responsible for producing playable vehicles - The offer states that the game would contain flying vehicles - Also looking for animation, AI specialists and designers September 27. 2016 - CDPR applied for government funding from GAMEINN. Also there is a mention of another recruitment from Rockstar North to be a gameplay producer in CP **\* This is probably a point in time when the studio fired the team which was working on the original concept of CP and they started engine rewriting – more on that on November 9. 2019 **\* December 14. 2016 - CDPR will get 10 mln (PLN) funding from GAMEINN April 7. 2017 - Trademark “Cyberpunk” was registered June 10. 2017 - Someone stole documentation related to the game and is demanding ransom. CD Projekt Red said they will not be meeting the demands and already contacted legal authorities October 4. 2017 - Major changes in the company: - Head level designer (Mateusz Piaskiewicz) left CDPR and joined Flying Wild Hog (worked on COD Black Ops III in the past) - Senior gameplay producer (Derek Patterson) left CDPR and joined Techland (formerly working on GTA V and RDR2) - Project Manager (Ovidiu Traian Vasilescu) left CDPR and joined V11 Studio Game (formerly Ubisoft employee) - The last person leaving is Senior Art Producer (Michał Stec) - CDPR refused to comment October 16. 2017 - CDPR’s comment on departure of four experienced employees: CP development on schedule, but it takes time – in this case silence is the cost of producing magnificent game, so one would be really brave to base a future of a high-budget RPG game on several people that left November 8. 2017 - In an interview for Strefa Inwestorów Kiciński says that CP budget is bigger than TW3 (over 300 mln PLN) and the game would have online elements November 9. 2017 - Some youtuber, based on interviews with two former CDPR employees is talking about a fuss in the company - People hired to work on CP were quicky moved to work on TW3 and after several years they quit, without doing anything related to what they were hired to - Ideas that are tough to implement, like separate story lines for male and female characters - Troubles with REDengine that is not handling multiplayer well - Success of TW3 hyped up studio's ambitions to a level which reaches out of the real capabilities. To meet them, in the end of 2016 they started rewriting big chunks of the engine and the team that was originally working on the basics and prototypes of CP was disbanded - According to youtuber’s sources CDPR don’t know at that point how the game would be shaped and the development is delayed by few years and we won’t see the game before 2020 - Despite all that one of the guys says that the game will be a huge hit - Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AynvqY4cN8M November 19. 2017 - 89 new job offers mostly related to Cyberpunk - Looking for Lead Gameplay Designer, Lead Level Designer, people responsible for creating the world, multiplayer and conceptual graphics November 20. 2017 - CDPR denies that the game would have microtransactions. “We leave greed to others” December 5. 2017 - Madqueen interviewed 43 employees of CDPR about their work conditions. - Some of them believe that is the best place to work in and crunch is a normal thing when creating something that huge, satisfaction being more important. There’s also a mention of bonuses that were payed out after TW3 release - 47% of them with different point of view. Year of crunch is ok, but some people were doing it for 3 years - Employees feel unappreciated by upper level staff, they’re exhausted both physically and mentally - CP development started in mid 2012. One of them says that it was the best time of his live. Unfortunately, delays related to TW3 release made CDPR move people working on CP to work on TW - After they went back to work on CP again, it was more chaotic than ever - The reason was the management. They occupy their positions because board trusts them, not because of their experience. - Some of them didn’t even had a job before this one. This causes issues, because more experienced employees were ignored by less experienced supervisors - Some people from the management gave their ideas after playing some game over the weekend without understanding that things that work somewhere else wouldn’t work here - “That a director comes and asks you to implement a new feature is not a surprise. But when another director, who you also have to respect, because he’s your boss, after all, comes and asks for a feature that contradicts your first order, it just leaves you with a face of – what the fuck am I supposed to do?” - That would be the main reason of crunch – to implement elements, which eventually got removed later on - There’s also a mention about rivalry between TW and CP teams: - “In the middle of 2012 Cyberpunk team was established. At the same time, The Witcher 3 was in the works. Those two had different leads and producers, but it came a problem when Witcher 3 was finished. Adam Badowski had a problem: He had two groups of managers, one which was involved in Cyberpunk for years but did not deliver any significant stuff. And other – experienced developers who delivered The Witcher 3 but had no experience or involvment on Cyberpunk. So what did Adam do? He suggested them that they should show what they can. And they started to play against each other, with harm to the project and “lower” employees” - Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z91W5l3TBo To Be continued EDIT: spelling
Digital Vs Physical Gaming? What should you choose, a little guide by me.
__This is a guide, so best you read it full thoroughly to get some information and some tips. It's for new players or for those who are quite late in PS4 era who are confused deciding whether to buy PS5 digital or PS5 Physical edition? While old PS4 players are also welcomed, who knows what might change your mind?__ Let's get this straight! I will be telling pros and cons of digital games, while cons being obviously pros of physical game. This guide will then proceed forward to next topic of who should switch? Ending with important NOTES. **Pros:** *Digital games are not physical entities, therefore they are damage proof, scratch proof, water-proof, dust-proof, overall they can't be destroyed, which means in case something like natural calamity happens like a earthquake your huge physical library will just came crashing down with all your sweet games discs shattered into pieces (off topic but Nintendo users are safe from most this stuff). While over time your physical games will accumulate scratches and small damages which may render them useless or make them full of problems to play on a console as it couldn't read the disk properly. *Digital games are very easy to access. Imagine you want to play all your games just for fun and you have this huge ass physical library. With digital games, and with now the power of PS5 fast SSD you don't have to stand up, and sit down again and again in your couch for changing the disks just exit the game and start next one. Laziness on another level, but that's what every one wants right? But with many games you might end up using HDD which will slow down your load time, but hey! You still haven't stood up from your cozy couch, so it's a win win! *Digital games let's you experience a true day one launch. Imagine you have this game (CYBERPUNK 2077) and you are so hype for this you decorated your whole room with posters, changed wallpapers of your devices to that damn beautiful night city and now just waiting for the release to happen. But wait? If you have digital copy, you can just pre load the game on to your console and start playing exactly from the time the game is launched! HYPE ++, but alas you have ordered physical copy, which will take days to come. While all your fav youtubers and friends are enjoying the game while you are sitting and just waiting for your game to come. HYPE : ( *Digital games go wherever you go! Let's say you are rich af and have over 1000 games in your library, or not so rich but still have a nice 50 games in your library. Now you are going to a vacation for few weeks to a nice spot but don't have enough space to carry all your 1000/50 games with you at once, leaving to you only mere 10-20 games you have. Well Digital games have no problem like that, no matter how many games you have you can take them with your PS5 anywhere and whenever you like, just pick up PS5 and go. (considering you have enough storage solution to store all the games, otherwise you could download them too, I mean not bad considering you don't have to worry about disks right?) Even bad when you are shifting your home you have to take headache of taking them too, and if some mishappening occurs, your disk, well goodbye. **Cons:** *Enough I guess, let's make all physical gamers too happy about themselves too!* *Digital games are just yours, which means you can't lend them to your far off friends, and in case you made a bad purchase and refund system is not available or you just don't want that game anymore, well you can't resell them. With digital games your money spent is just spent and you can't get it back anyway , while physical games can be shared, re-sold, and can be given for rent, Overall you can do whatever you want , keep, throw whatever, which means you are in CONTROL! And who doesn't like being in control ? *Physical games have not to be downloaded again and again. Imagine you need to download a new game, but you don't have space, and you delete a digital game. But later you got some space and you need to download that 50GB game again. Well congrats! The game you just downloaded before have to be downloaded again with net you paid for. While physical games have no such things. Just insert the disc, download minor updates*, or hell even start playing without updating the game. No need to worry about deleting a game and thinking you need to download it again. Physical games save so much data for real. (*doesn't consider updates of modern warfare 2019). And if you live in a bad internet area, then well buying a digital console is just like Going to school without books. *Physical games get cheaper faster. So you are not rich af and can't own 1000 games, but you are a gamer by heart and need those sweet juicy exclusives for your ps5, and luckily you are a physical gamer! Well physical games get way faster cheaper than digital ones. Both launch at same prices, but the digital stays on that grossing 60 dollars for months. Even after a year they hardly go below 30 while physical games can be get for like 10-15 dollars from ebay. Now that's what i call a deal!(NOTE: I only took data of around first two years based on my country experience, for more time than this, digital games get way cheaper than their physical brothers most of the time, with few exceptions. Results might differ in your country so see a little statistics of prices of games) *Physical games are great for show-off. Now you got some guests in your house, or a annoying child who treats you like shit when you are at his home. They all see your huge gaming library in all it's glory with those physicals cases and those fancy artwork and names written in their spine reading (GRAND THEFT AUTO V). And they all just see that awestruck while you stand their smiling on your beautiful collection. With digital games, meh. If you decided to open your PS5 then it's only possible moreover those fancy cases with artworks and physical items are still no match for those digital photos (it's another level feeling to hold a game in your hands). Physical games are just good for anyone who likes to praise their collection and see them all day and say, it's beautiful, I have seen it for 5 hours now. *Physical version doesn't steal your digital fun right? SO yeah by spending 100 more dollars you can get a console that do both physical and digital, and if you are kind of hybrid guy, then this is a extra pros of physical version for everyone. So that's all I guess. If there are enough please tell me, I will add them here. And I hope that answer much of your questions, so you either have decided till now which is better and what to go with. But you still confused? Well then here comes PS PLUS **PS PLUS:** I tell you about how good is ps plus actually, consider reading it or skip to conclusion. *I intend no console war, these are just my opinion. Xbox game pass is great but that doesn't make PS PLUS weak anyday. Read full.* It's a subscription service which gives you 2 free games every month (oof everyone knows that, now's the real deal) For just 60 dollars a year you get 2 top titles to keep every month. Fall Guys, Morder warfare 2 remastered, Street fighter V, PUBG are some of the recent amazing games that this subscription has given. And if you are having this subscription for multiple years like 4 years then you have probably made a 100+ games library which has games even better than whole xbox game pass (except flight sim ofcourse, that game is too amazing imo to be beaten by any PS exclusive). So when you think critically PS PLUS is much more financial and give you much better games than xbox game pass. HOW? LEMME EXPLAIN! You get two great games, say fall guys, you played it for month and then you get another games while you keep all your previous games. You can continue playing whatever you like. Like this a casual gamer will be happy with these offerings, and don't need to worry about running dry of games, and occasionally you will get top hits like uncharted 4, last of us, or hell even blood borne (GOD OF WAR isn't free until now, so get your damn horses cause it will most probably follow every other exclusive and be free before ragnarok release, only prediction though but quite undeniable). So a see you just pay 300 dollars for 5 years and get over thousands of dollar worth of games while xbox game pass for consoles cost 120 dollars a year(as it cost 10 dollars a month) i.e. 600 dollars for 5 years (holy hell) , with those extra 300 dollars you could buy so great exclusives during sale, while ultimate cost 900 dollars for 5 years . If you don't have pc, then very well, microsoft played you very well (considering some games exit the service too, and xbox live games are so bad most of the games are not even recognizable by many people). And if you have pc powerful enough to play those games, then this is ever better than PS PLUS any day handsdown. In PS PLUS games are being added in your library one by one. Now in xbox game pass they throw all games at once, and as I know you won't be playing every game right? Only 10-20 or ok even till 50. But you still paying for others game you don't play? See the point? That's the secret behind game pass successful model. No console wars here, but to proof that PS PLUS is a very great and financial subscription model for all casual gamers and that many people actually play the game they paid that 60 dollars for. You can buy just exclusives and few other top titles like cyberpunk while all other gaming needs would be fulfilled by a cheap 60 dollars subscription service which grants more than those free games for a whole year wow. See your library once, they are full of gems and you didn't even notice them. PS PLUS is literally a very great subscription service I ever came in hand with considering you not only get free games but other benefits too! (This is all obvious when you see the long run and not short run. This doesn't mean Xbox game pass is bad it's great, but I just wanna prove that PS PLUS is very great subscription model, and I love sony for this as much as I love xbox for their services) In PS5 you get a PS+ collection which give you instant access to more games, even some you have missed in regular giveaways. **So after all this we can come to 3 conclusion:** These are my opinion. 1: If you are totally new, then go with digital (but not when you have bad net. No chance. See if you have some cyber cafe or some place with fast net nearby to download games, otherwise you only have one option). Digital is only best option for casual new gamers rightaway. Sure cost of exclusives are 70 dollars? But you can either stick with you PS PLUS games, and wait for a sale, or just buy that yeah. I mean how often are exclusives released? Trust me, PS PLUS games will keep you busy for months and now you have that PS PLUS collection along with free gta online for first free months too! As you are totally new, you probably wanna buy old games which are obviously dead cheap during PS PLUS double discount sales 2: If you are PS4 gamer, and have quite small physical collection and wanna play new games rightaway, then go with digital. Prices are same for both version initially so it wouldn't bother you much. While see how many games you want from you small physical collection, sell all of those and buy digital version on sale (as they will be very cheap now, mostly). 3: If you are either rich af physical guy, or wanna buy exclusives/games for very cheap just after few months of release, go with physical. Although i would suggest try bending towards digital as i don't see physical games working for such huge budget games in future, but as for now, yeah physical PS5 edition is quite viable and you can enjoy them surely for next console genration. **NOTES:** These are some important thing i wanna share, suggest me more if you think so. *DriveClub digital edition is not available. So if you wanna play this game badly, go with physical or just ditch this game for good. *With games getting update and patches as big as MODERN WARFARE, moreover blu-ray disk achieving their capacity , it is safe to assume digital media is what everyone have to do mostly. Honestly if you could update modern warfare then you could download any game (except if your intentions are far beyond my imagination) *This guide as told was designed for totally new players or quite late players in PS4. Although I have gave conclusion covering as much audience available. *Overall you are the one to decide I just given you a direction, but ultimately you have your own decisions so make whatever suits you best. I hope I helped you significantly with this guide. *(Physical gamers)Also if the game is asking for mandatory update, try deleting the game, and then open your PS4 offline and then insert disk and start game upon installing. Most of the time it will work, but you just have not to go PS4 online again if you don't wanna update. But if not possible it's probably because of NOTE number 2 *Don't Buy PSNOW and EAPLAY with PS PLUS at all. PS PLUS is great and you need just time to make a good library. Sony licensing thing is quite messed like PS5 pre-orders, and if some game is given free by EA PLAY or PS NOW, and it was previously given free on PS PLUS, the current license of PSNOW and EA PLAY will override the PS PLUS license and if the games exit the service, there are high chances your PS PLUS library game will also be gone. SO don't buy any other service as it messes all sorts of licensing things. Ok, now time for a extra tip which is legal (ooh!) and might be life savior. For all you players who read till here, cause that's what heroes do right? Say you got a whole bunch of library of digital games. But one day you do something and you get permanently banned, and literally you become now broke af, frustrated af, and angry af. But all of that could be prevented, if you did this one thing. First of all make two legal accounts on PSN (by legal I mean everything you enter should be 100% accurate and no faking of anything, seriously). One with which you purchase games, and another with which you will play games now. Log both accounts in to your PS4. Now with you main account, buy games , PS PLUS membership and set it as primary. And with your play account play your games. Now if you get banned you will lose all your game progress. But hey those sweet games and your PS PLUS library are still saved in your another account right? Make another account and play your games (again from starting though, rip my 2000 hours in SKRIM) However I honestly condemn racial shit and slurs, in online gaming. If you do it, you are the lowest scum in this earth. However I found out this method because company can ban you many times for no obvious reason, and then we have nothing to do except remorse. So this was my method, it's working great from 2 years for me. And it will do so cause it's not illegal to buy games in an account and don't play it in it lol? And hope this method will make you feel more good about buying digital games, as it was considered one of the biggest problems of digital gaming, that your whole library is whoooshed if you get banned. That's why I didn't state it as a pros or con, cause here is the solution (for anyone wondering). And save files are lost both in physical and digital method as they are tied to your account. So that's it all I had to share. I hope it was much helpful for you, and I hope you have a great next gen gaming experience. Was having free time so decided to spend it by helping others. #PS5 IS COMING BABY!
