Naam 1986 (How Kumar Gaurav made the biggest sacrifice for Sanjay Dutt and REVIVED his career).
Kumar Gaurav had the biggest launch for a star son with Love Story in 1981 after Bobby and it was actually one of the biggest hits of 80s. Kumar turned into an overnight star, but after that a string of flops continued, some being idiotic rehashes such as Lovers, Romance etc. Rajendra Kumar took the control of his son’s career who was flopping hard one after another, with the much ambitious Naam (1986). Interestingly in Naam was made by Rajendra Kumar and the role of Sanjay Dutt was actually written for Kumar Gaurav being his son, but Kumar Gaurav whose own career was on a ventilator wanted his “best friend” to have a meatier part since Sanjay at that time had flopped hard, came back from the rehab post drug abuse before this movie so his best friend wanted Sanjay to steal all the limelight, and Rajendra Kumar only reluctantly agreed after long and also didn’t act in the movie. The movie worked wonders for Sanjay, but did nothing for Kumar Gaurav who was slightly bigger than Sanjay before that. I wonder that was extremely selfless of Kumar Gaurav, but Sanjay being a brat never tried to return the favour, even when he grew from strength to strength later on. Sanjay Dutt was a horrible person indeed. P.S. Kumar Gaurav even married Sanjay’s sister Namrata Dutt, breaking off with Raj Kapoor’s daughter Reema Kapoor( Reema Jain). P.P.S, Subhash Ghai’s Karma had released few weeks before Naam and with Naam becoming a sleeper hit, Subhash Ghai in his salty, egoistic self told a exhibitor to watch his Karma rather than a “Charsi, flop, third class actor (Sanjay). Lmao there was Sanjay Dutt standing right behind him and grabbed him by the collar until Sunil Dutt intervened.

Bollywood actors that have been forgotten
Ever since its existence, the Bollywood world has given several actors an actresses that have been in the spotlight for their good talent and contribution to the industry but soon ended up fading away from the industry, for one reason or the other. So here is the list of some of the actors of the Bollywood industry that once we're doing great but ended up fading away from the industry :
1) Adhyayan Suman Having started his career in the year 2008 with the movie Haal-e-dil, Adhyayan Suman was not able to deliver consistently and hence could not make any waves in the industry of Bollywood. After not succeeding on the silver screen of the Indian film cinema, he went on to work in movies like Jashnn and Dehraadun Diary which also did not do quite well at the box office of the Indian film cinema. He was last seen on the screen in the year 2014 when again his movie flopped at the box office.
2) Sikander Kher Sikander Kher is the son of the very renowned Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher. It was in the year 2008 when he made his acting debut in the Bollywood town with a movie named Woodstock Villa. Apart from this, he worked in a couple of other movies such as Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Summer 2007, as well as Tere Bin Laden 2 but none of his movies helped to take his acting career forward and he soon was forgotten by the Bollywood lovers and viewers.
3) Kumar Gaurav
Kumar Gaurav stepped into the world of Bollywood with the movie Love Story(1981) but failed to leave a mark in the industry and hence his acting career failed before even taking a flight. He made his last appearance on the silver screen with the movie Kaante (2002) and since then has been managing his construction and travel business. Apart from this, he has also worked in a few television and dubbing roles but everything done by him failed to leave a positive mark and hence he too faded away from the industry.
4) Amar Upadhyay
Popularly known as Mihir Virani throughout the country, Amar Upadhyay is one of the most well-established and well-known faces of the TV industry of the country. In the year 1998, he made his debut in the Bollywood industry with a movie named Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge! Apart from this, he was also featured in movies such as Jodi Kya Banayi Wah Wah Ramji, Dhund: The Fog, Dahshat and LOC Kargil. He also made an appearance on one of the most renowned TV show of the country, Bigg Boss 5. All these did not prove to be enough and his career flopped at the silver screen of Bollywood.
5) Zayed Khan One of the most renowned and loved names on this list, Zayed Khan made his acting debut in the year 2003 with the movie named Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. He is the son of the actor Sanjay Khan and after his debut, he got nominated for an award for his contribution to his debut film. After that, he was offered a role in Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na.

Let's try to make a list of deserving awards in Bollywood [np]
The following is my input on the Filmfare best actor awards from 1974 (first year with 5 nominees) till now. Please share your opinions on these and if one of you can spare some time, we can have some polls too. I am just trying to restrict myself to the best among nominees here, but feel free to extend beyond in the discussion.
The format of the following list is the winner of the year is first and followed by nominees. Copied from
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmfare_Award_for_Best_Actor - 1974 Rishi Kapoor – Bobby as Raj Nath
- Amitabh Bachchan – Zanjeer as Insp. Vijay Khanna
- Dharmendra – Yaadon Ki Baaraat as Shankar
- Rajesh Khanna – Daag: A Poem of Love as Sunil Kohli
- Sanjeev Kumar – Koshish as Hari Charan Mathur
This one was the one which Rishi Kapoor said he had to buy. Obviously he had to, cause this year had Amitabh in Zanjeer and Sanjeev Kumar in Koshish. My pick is Sanjeev Kumar.
- 1975 Rajesh Khanna – Avishkaar as Amar
- Dharmendra – Resham Ki Dori as Ajit Singh
- Dilip Kumar – Sagina as Sagina
- Manoj Kumar – Roti Kapda Aur Makaan as Bharat
- Rajesh Khanna – Prem Nagar as Chhotey Kunver Karan U. Singh
No idea
- 1976 Sanjeev Kumar – Aandhi as J.K
- Amitabh Bachchan – Deewaar as Vijay Verma
- Manoj Kumar – Sanyasi as Ram Rai
- Sanjeev Kumar – Sholay as Thakur Baldev Singh
- Uttam Kumar – Amanush as Madhusudan Roy Chaudhary
Can't argue with this pick. Uttam Kumar from Amanush is a close second.
- 1977 Sanjeev Kumar – Arjun Pandit as Arjun Pandit
- Amitabh Bachchan – Kabhi Kabhie as Amitabh Malhotra
- Amol Palekar – Chhoti Si Baat as Arun Pradeep
- Dilip Kumar – Bairaag as Kailash / Bholenath
- Sanjeev Kumar – Mausam as Dr. Amarnath Gill
Can't argue here too. Amol Palekar is the second pick.
- 1978 Amitabh Bachchan – Amar Akbar Anthony as Anthony Gonzalves
- Amitabh Bachchan – Adalat as Thakur Dharam Chand / Raju
- Sanjeev Kumar – Yehi Hai Zindagi as Anand Narayan
- Sanjeev Kumar – Zindagi as Raghu Shukla
- Vinod Khanna – Shaque as Vinod Joshi
This one really depends on your tastes, but Amitabh's performance can be said to be the best in the group.
- 1979 Amitabh Bachchan – Don as Don / Vijay
- Amitabh Bachchan – Muqaddar Ka Sikandar as Sikandar
- Amitabh Bachchan – Trishul as Vijay Kumar
- Sanjeev Kumar – Devata as Tony/Tarun Kumar Gupta
- Sanjeev Kumar – Pati Patni Aur Woh as Ranjeet Chhadha
I would have still gone for Amitabh but in Muqaddar ka Sikandar.
- 1980 Amol Palekar – Gol Maal as Ram/Laxman Prasad Dasharath Prasad Sharma
- Amitabh Bachchan – Kaala Patthar as Vijay Pal Singh
- Amitabh Bachchan – Mr. Natwarlal as Natwarlal
- Rajesh Khanna – Amar Deep as Raja / Sonu
- Rishi Kapoor – Sargam as Raju
Can't argue with this one
- 1981 Naseeruddin Shah – Aakrosh as Bhaskar Kulkarni
- Amitabh Bachchan – Dostana as Vijay Varma
- Raj Babbar – Insaaf Ka Tarazu as Ramesh R. Gupta
- Rajesh Khanna – Thodisi Bewafaii as Arun Kumar Choudhary
- Shatrughan Sinha – Dostana as Ravi Kapoor
- Vinod Khanna – Qurbani as Amar
No arguing with this one too.
- 1982 Naseeruddin Shah – Chakra as Looka
- Amitabh Bachchan – Lawaaris as Heera
- Amitabh Bachchan – Silsila as Amit Malhotra
- Kamal Haasan – Ek Duuje Ke Liye as S. Vasudevan 'Vasu'
- Rajesh Khanna – Dard as Deepak Srivastav / Vikas
Amitabh in Silsila/Lawaaris can be considered here. This is one of the few years where an art movie performance was considered above a good mainstream performance.
- 1983 Dilip Kumar – Shakti as DCP Ashwini Kumar
- Amitabh Bachchan – Bemisal as Dr. Sudhir Roy / Adhir Roy
- Amitabh Bachchan - Namak Halaal as Arjun Singh
- Amitabh Bachchan - Shakti as Vijay Kumar
- Naseeruddin Shah – Bazaar as Salim
- Rishi Kapoor – Prem Rog as Devdhar 'Dev'
- Sanjeev Kumar – Angoor as Ashok R. Tilak
This is one of the years where any judge will sweat while thinking of picking only one. Amitabh in Namak Halal/Shakti, Naseeruddin in Bazaar and Sanjeev Kumar in Angoor!!!! Wow, and even Rishi Kapoor gave a career best performance (younger career) in Prem Rog. Pick Any, it is a tough year.
- 1984 Naseeruddin Shah – Masoom as D. K. Malhotra
- Kamal Haasan – Sadma as K. Somprakash 'Somu'
- Om Puri – Ardh Satya as Sub-inspector Anant Velankar
- Rajesh Khanna – Avtaar as Avtaar Krishen
- Sunny Deol – Betaab as Sunny Kapoor
Another tough year. Masoom , Sadma and Ardh Satya!!! I personally would have gone for Sadma.
- 1985 Anupam Kher – Saaransh as B. V. Pradhan
- Amitabh Bachchan – Sharaabi as Vicky Kapoor
- Dilip Kumar – Mashaal as Vinod Kumar
- Naseeruddin Shah – Sparsh as Anirudh Parmar
- Raj Babbar – Aaj Ki Awaaz as Prof. Prabhat Kumar Varma
Naseeruddin Shah in Sparsh gives a good competition, but I don't think anyone would argue against this one too.
- 1986 Kamal Haasan – Saagar as Raja
- Amitabh Bachchan – Mard as Raju Singh
- Anil Kapoor – Meri Jung as Arun Verma
- Kumar Gaurav – Janam as Rahul
- Rishi Kapoor – Tawaif as Dawood Mohammed Ali Khan Yusuf Zahi
Kamal Haasan is the best among the nominees. But his year clearly seems a weak year compared to previous ones.
- 1987 No Award
- 1988 No Award
- 1989 Anil Kapoor – Tezaab as Mahesh "Munna" Deshmukh
- Aamir Khan – Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak as Raj
- Amitabh Bachchan – Shahenshah as Vijay Kumar Srivastava / Shahenshah
Best among the nominees won this one.
- 1990 Jackie Shroff – Parinda as Kishen
- Aamir Khan – Raakh as Amir Hussein
- Anil Kapoor – Eeshwar as Ishwarchand Vishnunath Brahmanand
- Rishi Kapoor – Chandni as Rohit Gupta
- Salman Khan – Maine Pyar Kiya as Prem Choudhary
Jackie Shroff is the best pick and this is among his best movies. When did Gardish come? I do not see it in the nominations. It seems that it was snubbed.
- 1991 Sunny Deol – Ghayal as Ajay Mehra
- Aamir Khan – Dil as Raja
- Amitabh Bachchan – Agneepath as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan
- Chiranjeevi – Pratibandh as Siddhanth
As good as Sunny Paaji was here, I feel Amitabh was snubbed this year.
- 1992 Amitabh Bachchan – Hum as Tiger / Shekhar Malhotra
- Aamir Khan – Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin as Raghu Jetley
- Anil Kapoor – Lamhe as Virendra Pratap Singh
- Dilip Kumar – Saudagar as Veeru Singh
- Sanjay Dutt – Saajan as Aman Verma
One can argue for other nominees but I feel this one is correctly chosen.
- 1993 Anil Kapoor – Beta as Raju
- Aamir Khan – Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar as Sanjaylal Sharma
- Amitabh Bachchan – Khuda Gawah as Baadshah Khan
Hard to pick between Anil Kapoor and Amitabh here, but I am fine with either.
- 1994 Shah Rukh Khan – Baazigar as Ajay Sharma/Vicky Malhotra
- Aamir Khan – Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke as Rahul Malhotra
- Govinda – Aankhen as Bunnu / Gulshan / Gaurishankar
- Jackie Shroff – Gardish as Shiva P. Sathe
- Sanjay Dutt - "Khalnayak" as Ballu Balram
Wow, Jackie was unlucky to have Gardish in this year. This one is SRK's award. No doubt.
- 1995 Nana Patekar - Krantiveer' as Pratap Narayan Tilak
- Akshay Kumar - Yeh Dillagi as Vijay Saigal
- Aamir Khan – Andaz Apna Apna as Amar Manohar
- Anil Kapoor – 1942: A Love Story as Narendra Singh
- Shah Rukh Khan – Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa as Sunil
No arguing with this one. I also feel if I argue Nana from this movie would argue back and I won't be able to answer back.
- 1996 Shah Rukh Khan – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge as Raj Malhotra
- Aamir Khan – Rangeela as Munna
- Ajay Devgan – Naajayaz as Jay Bakshi
- Govinda – Coolie No. 1 as Raju
- Salman Khan – Karan Arjun as Karan Singh
SRK or Aamir depending on your taste. Rangeela was no doubt one of the best performances by Aamir, but one can argue for SRK in DDLJ too.
- 1997 Aamir Khan – Raja Hindustani as Raja Hindustani
- Govinda – Saajan Chale Sasural as Shyamsunder
- Nana Patekar – Khamoshi: The Musical as Joseph Braganza
- Nana Patekar – Agni Sakshi as Vishwanath
- Sunny Deol – Ghatak: Lethal as Kashi Nath
Nana Patekar was very clearly snubbed.
- 1998 Shah Rukh Khan – Dil To Pagal Hai as Rahul
- Anil Kapoor – Virasat as Shakti Thakur
- Govinda – Deewana Mastana as Bunnu
- Kamal Haasan – Chachi 420 as Jaiprakash Paswan / Laxmi Godbhole
- Sunny Deol – Border as Kuldip Singh Chandpuri
I would have given it to Anil Kapoor this year.
- 1999 Shah Rukh Khan – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as Rahul Khanna
- Aamir Khan – Ghulam as Siddharth Marathe
- Ajay Devgan – Zakhm as Ajay R. Desai
- Govinda – Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as Pyare Mohan / Chotey Miyan
- Salman Khan – Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya as Suraj Khanna
It is Aamir's award. It seems that the second half of the nineties is the worst time for filmfare. It is at this time that they clearly are favouring box office collections than performances.
- 2000 Sanjay Dutt – Vaastav: The Reality as Raghunath Namdev Shivalkar
- Aamir Khan – Sarfarosh as Ajay Singh Rathod
- Ajay Devgan – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam as Vanraj
- Manoj Bajpai – Shool as Samar Pratap Singh
- Salman Khan – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam as Sameer Rossellini
I won't argue with this one. Sorry, Aamir.
- 2001 Hrithik Roshan – Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai as Rohit / Raj Chopra
- Anil Kapoor – Pukar as Major Jaidev Rajvansh
- Shah Rukh Khan – Mohabbatein as Raj Aryan Malhotra
- Sanjay Dutt - Mission Kashmir as SSP Inayat Khan
- Hrithik Roshan - fiza as Amaan Ikramullah
It seems like a snub, but the other nominees are also not that great. I personally would have given it to SRK.
- 2002 Aamir Khan – Lagaan as Bhuvan
- Aamir Khan – Dil Chahta Hai as Akash Malhotra
- Amitabh Bachchan – Aks as Manu Verma
- Shah Rukh Khan – Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... as Rahul Y. Raichand
- Sunny Deol – Gadar: Ek Prem Katha as Tara Singh
No arguing here
- 2003 Shah Rukh Khan – Devdas as Devdas Mukherjee
- Ajay Devgan – Company as Mallik
- Amitabh Bachchan – Kaante as Yashvardhan 'Major' Rampal
- Bobby Deol – Humraaz as Raj Singhania
- Vivek Oberoi – Saathiya as Aditya Sehgal
No arguing here too.
- 2004 Hrithik Roshan – Koi... Mil Gaya as Rohit Mehra
- Ajay Devgan – Gangaajal as Amit Kumar
- Amitabh Bachchan – Baghban as Raj Malhotra
- Salman Khan – Tere Naam as Radhe Mohan
- Shah Rukh Khan – Kal Ho Naa Ho as Aman Mathur
One can argue for other nominees here, but I personally feel that this one is correct.
- 2005 Shah Rukh Khan – Swades as Mohan Bhargav
- Amitabh Bachchan - Khakee as DCP Anant Kumar
- Hrithik Roshan – Lakshya as Karan Shergill
- Shah Rukh Khan – Main Hoon Na as Major Ram Prasad Sharma
- Shah Rukh Khan – Veer-Zaara as Veer Pratap Singh
No arguing here

- Aamir Khan - PK as PK
- Akshay Kumar – Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty as Virat Bakshi

Overall it seems to me that more often than not (I would say about 70-80% times), the best among the nominees wins. Also, there was a phase during late 90s, early 2000s that had a few obvious snubs. In the past decade also, there are only 3 times one can argue there was an obvious snub.
In any case, what are your opinions?

Let's try to make a list of deserving awards in Bollywood
No arguing here
- 2006 Amitabh Bachchan – Black as Debraj Sahai
- Aamir Khan – Mangal Pandey: The Rising as Mangal Pandey
- Abhishek Bachchan – Bunty Aur Babli as Rakesh Trivedi / Bunty

- Sanjay Dutt – Lage Raho Munna Bhai as Murli Prasad Sharma
- Shah Rukh Khan– Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna as Dev Saran
- Shah Rukh Khan – Don as Don / Vijay
Aamir was snubbed here. Hrithik was the epitome of cool in Dhoom 2, but.... I don't know, we generally do not considered good cool acting as acting. In any case, Aamir created a classic character in RDB which would be long remembered.
- 2008 Shah Rukh Khan – Chak De! India as Coach Kabir Khan
- Abhishek Bachchan – Guru as Gurukant Desai
- Akshay Kumar – Namastey London as Arjun Singh
- Darsheel Safary – Taare Zameen Par as Ishaan Awasthi

It is Naseeruddin's award

- Ajay Devgan – Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai as Sultan Mirza
- Hrithik Roshan – Guzaarish as Ethan Mascarenhas
- Salman Khan – Dabangg as Chulbul Pandey

Best among the nominees won.
- 2012 Ranbir Kapoor - Rockstar as Janardhan "Jordan" Jakhar

- Amitabh Bachchan – Aarakshan as Prabhakar Anand
- Hrithik Roshan – Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as Arjun Narula
- Salman Khan – Bodyguard as Lovely Singh
- Shah Rukh Khan – Don 2 as Don
Again, no arguing with this one.
- 2013 Ranbir Kapoor – Barfi! as Murphy "Barfi" Johnson
- Hrithik Roshan – Agneepath as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan
- Irrfan Khan - Paan Singh Tomar as Paan Singh Tomar
- Manoj Bajpai – Gangs of Wasseypur as Sardar Khan
- Salman Khan – Dabangg 2 as Chulbul Pandey
